This was our first trip to a backpacking store. Brother and I walked around the Rusted Moon Outfitters in Broad Ripple for over an hour and a half. Pete was very helpful answering our questions. It did seem he was directing us to the most expensive items. But maybe they are the ones we need. I have an estimated budget on how much everything will be, and now I need to double it. $400 for a sleeping bag! Wow! I hope my wife understands. But if we buy the right stuff the first time, we shouldn't have to buy anything else.
I do wish there was a REI store closer so we could get another opinion. Maybe we could take a road trip over the winter. I am going to put up a new list of the things we looked at so we can compare them to other options.
I will not spend $400 for a sleeping bag. I think we could get away with a good $100 bag.
ReplyDeleteThat pack looks awesome. I dont think I could spend 400.00. I will look around until I find something alot cheaper. Taking a trip to Nashville sounds great. Just plan it and I will be there. I had a great time checking out all of the neat stuff with you pm Monday. You wont believe what I did after that. I will tell you about it when we get together. ReplyDeleteBrentwood and the hours are from 11a to 6p. Maybe after Christmas we could go down there. You to have a happy Thanksgiving.
Its not a big thing so not to suspenseful. Yes we could go on a Sunday and after the New Year would be great. There is alot to learn and it would be nice to get a different perspective. Let me know when you plan on going.
