I found a new website on section hiker. It is called Sectionhiker.com. It has a lot to offer. A section for beginners. Food. Gear. Trails. A whole bunch of good information.

  1. Hey, I found Tyvek on Ebay for 99 cents a foot. How much do you think we need to get? This site is very helpful with a lot of information.

  2. How long is the Tyvek. I saw where it was sold in 8,9, and 10 foot lengths.

2 packs, at least 4ft by 4ft each.
    2 ground covers, 5 by 10 each
    1 (or 2) 8 by 10 tarp(S)
    2 2 by 2 to sit on ?

If it is a 10 ft roll, then we would probably need at least 24 ft. 32 ft if we make 2 tarps.
Maybe a few more feet just in case.
Can you think of any else we could use it for?

  5. The guy that is shipping this wanted me to tell him what sizes we needed to make it easy to ship. I wasn't sure so I told him to cut it in half. I hope that is ok.

  6. That should be fine. We could make the big stuff first and see what we have left. We could always buy more. That is a really good price. Thanks for finding out and getting it.

  8. Got the Tyvek today and Postman charged me $7.11 to get the package. I guess he didn't do the right shipping. I sent him a email but have not heard back. My side is in the washer right now taking out all the stiffness. I will bring yours this Sat. if we are still on. Let me know.

  9. So what does that make the final cost for the Tyvek? We need to keep tabs on who buys what so we can even it out. I put a new post about the hike.
